Out of Balance: ExxonMobil's Impact on Climate ChangeRising to the Challenge: America and Canada's youth are calling for five days of demonstrations to jumpstart the second semester of the Campus Climate Challenge and put the heat on a new U.S. Congress and a returning Canadian Parliament to begin aggressive national power shifts on global warming.
Hosting a screening or multiple screenings on campus of Out of Balance: ExxonMobil's Impact on Climate Change is a great way to educate the campus community about global warming and recruit new students to join campus climate activities.
Along with the DVD, you will receive a packet of materials to use during this event, including a sign-up sheet/petition, stickers, and fliers to share during the screening. A poster template (shown here) is also available for you to download and add your campus information.
After the movie is over, make sure to offer a way for people to take action immediately in addition to joining you for future activities. Exxpose Exxon encourages campuses to gather signatures petitioning the world's largest oil company to stop double crossing America by funding front groups that deceive the public about the science of global warming.
Out of Balance: ExxonMobil's Impact on Climate Change (90 second trailer)
While the Earth's climate is pushed further out of balance by the increasing use of fossil fuels, ExxonMobil continues to assert undue influence over the Bush administration and fund junk science and front groups that deny the seriousness of global warming and create the illusion of a debate. Out of Balance is an independent 1-hour expose´ that establishes the science and urgency of global warming and reveals ExxonMobil's deliberate disinformation campaign to undermine the science and block crucial action. The film then points the way forward and inspires viewers to think big about renewable energy solutions.
Features rare interviews with government and company whistleblowers, prominent scientists, and respected authors and experts including: Bill McKibben and Ross Gelbspan, Rick Piltz; Dr. Robert Watson; and more.
